Handcrafted slow fashion garments designed for everyday wear using natural, breathable fabrics

OUR STORY

Betty Ellis is a small Australian-based designer and the founder of ONEKTA. She started her journey in her home studio in Perth, Western Australia in 2017. She began offering her handmade garments insmall-batches for others to appreciate and enjoy through her small in-home store. Relaxed multi-purpose designs for everyday use.
Over the years, she built meaningful collaborations and connections with small organisations and family-run businesses in Kathmandu, Nepal; including traditional handloom cotton, silk industries aswell as connecting with small organisations such as the butterfly foundation, and Laxmi's button palace. Staying true to her passion for authentic, collaborative designs.
By August 2025 she introduced herself online and opened the door to work with international arts & artisans to create unique & thoughtfully-made pieces.

ONEKTA, pronounced on-ekta.
Shares a meaningful interpretation.

“Ekta” in Nepali and Indian means “unity.” Reflecting on-unity, or unity as one, the concept of being united as a single entity is very meaningful to me. It reinforces the idea of collective strength and shared humanity.

OUR PROCESS

Every piece starts with thoughtful design focused on longevity, comfort, and simplicity.
Made from raw and organic materials, met with fair trade, less mass production, made with care and love.
There’s a story behind every piece.
Another being.
Another life journey.

Love ONEKTA.
