Handcrafted slow fashion garments designed for everyday wear using natural, breathable fabrics

OUR STORY

Betty is a small Australian-based designer and the founder of ONEKTA. She started her journey in her home studio in Perth, Western Australia in 2024. "ONEKTA was never just about creating clothing. Although I appreciate beautiful fabrics, it was born from an idea to bring people together. Not about what I could just get out of it as one singular person. But to build and strengthen something meaningful. We all crave community... to be a part of something and feel mutual support from each other. We at heart share the same vision.. to create something real, meaningful, and substantial. Be apart of something bigger. Serve each other. We keep art forms alive. To feel alive once again. You can feel it woven through the fabric presence..patience.. what it means to be human. We do not compete, compare, or measure. Why would we? There’s plenty to go around. This is more than just fashion. Because we are sure of what we are creating. We hope you feel it."

ONEKTA, pronounced on-ekta.
Shares a meaningful interpretation.

“Ekta” in Nepali and Indian means “unity.” Reflecting on-unity, or unity as one, the concept of being united as a single entity is very meaningful to me. It reinforces the idea of collective strength and shared humanity.

OUR PROCESS

Each piece starts with thoughtful design focused on longevity, comfort, and simplicity. Collaborating with local & international artisans throughout Nepal & India we work with raw and organic materials made on traditional handlooms, met with fair trade, less mass production, made with hands and with heart.
There’s a story behind every piece.
Another being.
Another life journey.
shares with community & through story telling.
